Welcome to the Pigeon River Country.
This site is a photographic history of my 50+ years spent camping, fishing,
hunting and biking this beautiful region. The Pigeon River Country encompasses
approximately 104,000 acres and was created in October of 1973 by the
Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
It is located in the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula and is at the center
of the range of the only large, wild elk herd east of the Mississippi River. Some of
the photographs are low quality due to being old scans or very old originals, but
serve the purpose. I hope you enjoy the website as much as I did making it.
